I planned a birthday staycation for my wife on 9/2/2023 at Fairmont Singapore. As an accor plus member I decided to make use of the complimentary night. But then again both my wife and I seldom do staycations as we live just minutes away drive from the Central Business District at Tanjong Rhu area. Given my wife also works at Raffles Place I decided to upgrade my room stay at an additional cost to a King Harbour View room so that it will not remind her of work place. However there a slew of issues from point of check in to the actual functionality of the room itself. Upon check in we were told that there wouldn't be parking coupons issued to guests as the carpark was under capitaland management. Ivy the concierge was kind enough to get us one complimentary ticket for 24hour parking but this meant we were trapped to the confines of the raffles place surrounding areas. If we had other arrangements or programmes we could not enter and exit the area as we please via car. Despite the connectivity of the hotel via public transport, there are also guests who are locals who drive. Such a system seems biased toward local guests with families or need to travel to multiple destinations a day. Secondly in respect of the room functionality, as we were to leave the room to go for tea at nearby cafes, the toilet keep flushing with only a normal flush. Water kept pouring into the cubicle and we were afraid it might just overflow at any point. We called the conceige who got an engineer to rectify. It was discovered that the inner mechanism behind the metal plate was faulty or stuck( red button of some sort), nothing with the actual flush tab itself. So all these time we stuck to the confines of the room for a good 45min;from raising of issue to resolving it. Lastly in the evening at the side table beside the bed I came across 2 circular stains the size of slightly bigger than 50 cent coins when placing my mobile at the bedside to charge. Housekeeping came in and verified the stains but were unable to remove it. And I realised towards the end of the stay the room assigned to us was not a harbour king view room. Our room faced the main road and directly in front was South Beach Tower and the war memorial Further forward was the road Suntec city mall and Marina Square. In any case the realisation of the incorrect room type was only let slip by your guest relations manager when after highlighting the experiences quoted that " should we return for a visit in future he would offer us complimentary breakfast and upgrade us to a deluxe harbour room" I was like what??
As always, high quality facilities, services and people. I left my backpack in the lobby before I went to the airport and I was able to retrieve it in time to make my flight--people from the one who answered my call, to security, to the concierg, made it an almost seamless experience for me. Thank you!
Firstly, it was a pleasure to have stayed at Fairmont Singapore. The room was of course contemporary and luxurious, and I was pleasantly surprised at the overall experience. Secondly, I will like to commend Ace Foo from Front Office, who took much effort to ensure the entire check-in process was quick and seamless. After checking that the room was ready in advance, he went the extra mile to offer to help me with my hand-held luggage and even wished me and enjoyable and pleasant stay, something which I clearly had during my stay at Fairmont Singapore. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised at the Birthday Amenity Cake which was prepared for me. Ace’s sincerity in making sure guests are taken care of is remarkable. I’m thankful for the extra mile service by him and sincerely thank him for organizing such a pleasant surprise. Thirdly, I will also like to place on record my greatest appreciation for the housekeeping staff Sivam. The Housekeeping Staffs are often the unsung heroes of the Hotel, but it is precisely because of their good work that guests get to enjoy the overall hotel experience. Sivam attended to me after I had requested for a Shaver, as this was not provided for in the room. Not only was he very respectful and amicable, he was also ever ready to assist guest with their requests wherever possible. Kudos to Sivam from Housekeeping who attended to me during my stay. He was also extremely patient in my requests for an extra towel, resolving it proficiently and expeditiously. Not only was he able to act swiftly on Guests requests, he also ensured that I could let him know should I require any further assistance to any housekeeping related enquiries. Well Done, Sivam! This is really Hospitality from the heart, and such kind and thoughtful gestures always leave a lasting impression for guests. I’m sure Sivam has elevated the service levels of the Housekeeping tremendously in his own way and he certainly deserves to be recognized for his efforts. He is a joy to have around in the Hotel and I'm sure many guests share similar experiences as myself.

I loved the hotel, the service, the whole experience was a delight
We thoroughly enjoyed our Stay at the Fairmont Singapore. I have always looked for an opportunity to stay in a Fairmont Property after our daughter, who worked for Tourism BC took us to High Tea at the Empress in Victoria BC. The foyer was beautifully decorated and the room was a very comfortable size. The view from 1702 was spectacular, spectacular enough that we would sleep with the curtains open. I was so impressed with the filtered water tap in the bathroom; I even took a photo of it. The Fairmont Staff would always greet us warmly on our return from a hard day sightseeing, that made us feel very special. Concierge and Doormen were always on hand to help with directions, organising a taxi or car to the airport on our departure .
