  • Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is located approximately 30 minutes drive from Fairmont Empress. There are several rental car companies located at the airport.  Alternatively, there is a shuttle service, run by Lucky to Go shuttle.

    If you are driving from the airport, simply follow signs for "Victoria". The airport is located just off of Highway 17, which will take you directly into the heart of Downtown Victoria and to Fairmont Empress.

  • The Harbour Air and Kenmore Air float plane terminal in Victoria is located across the street from Fairmont Empress, along the Inner Harbour. The terminal is located approximately a five minute walk away. Alternatively, taxis are also available.

  • Travelling between Downtown Vancouver and Downtown Victoria has never been easier than with Helijet. The Helijet terminal is located approximately one mile (1.6km) from Fairmont Empress, and is accessible via taxi or Helijet's shuttle service.

    Loyalty club members who are guests of Fairmont Empress and/or Fairmont Waterfront are eligible to receive a 15% discount on Helijet flights. Members will need to quote their Fairmont President's Club membership number, as well as their hotel confirmation number when booking flights. For questions or assistance, please contact our Concierge.

  • If you are arriving via BC Ferries Swartz Bay terminal, you will automatically join Highway 17 as you drive off the ferry. Stay on Highway 17 for approximately 33km until you reach Downtown Victoria. Highway 17 will turn into Blanchard Street, which will turn into Belleville Street. Turn right onto Government Street and you will arrive at Fairmont Empress.

Very nice hotel. Rooms need updating. Bathroom is a little tiny. Front. Desk service was only OK. Great door and bell experience. Great cocktails at the bar. room service breakfast was mediocre… toast wasn’t toasted and eggs Benny sauce was only OK.

A Double Bed is not a Q. bed, no matter how much you deny it

I stayed at the Fairmont Empress while attending a conference at your establishment. Check in went very quick and smoothly. Upon checking into my room, I had a view of a brick wall in one window and the other window displayed the garbage containers which made a lot of noise everytime there was garbage to compact.

Excellent stay - perfect

Excellent stay. Staff were helpful. I especially love Winston the Canine Ambassador - what a great idea. Winston made it feel homey. From the moment you pull up to the Empress - the people are helpful, pleasant. The place is beautiful and Fab location. Loved our stay.

Beautiful hotel, terrible self park process

Travelled for business and brought our truck as it was snowing. The truck was considered too high for the underground and therefore needed to be self parked. Each time we needed to park, we had to drive to the front and ask for the "fob" to use to open the gate, drive around the block to the parking area and then walk back to the front to return the fob. Our room was closer to the parking area so walking all the way back to the front desk was extremely inconvenient. Not sure how a luxury hotel has such an archaic process that is more than inconvenient for customers. why not a hotel key fob? why not have a code to enter to open the gate? This really was a disappointing part of our first stay at the Empress.

Great value for location.

It was very quiet in the hotel. The room was very nice. Breakfast in the “Q” was excellent. We were disappointed in the quality and value of our meals in the bar.
